Mussolini Would Be Proud [Jan. 23rd, 2010|10:35 am]

[mood |FUCKING PISSED OFF!!!]

Another nail in the coffin of our democratic republic has been hammered in.
The Supreme Court has ruled that corporations and unions can flood the electoral process with as much cash as they want to - paving the way to override any and all grassroots movements and out spend private citizens. (As if our government wasn’t corrupt enough already.) The Supreme Court reached this decision by way of declaring that campaign contributions are a form of free speech. Additionally, a corporation is viewed as a person - with all of the rights of an individual, but with none of the responsibilities, and little to no accountability of one. Candidates/whores will now openly and gleefully offer themselves up to the highest bidder.

Why is it that those who are the most vociferous proponents of the myth that there is “no free lunch” insist upon foisting on us “free trade” and the lie that what amounts to political prostitution, is free speech? Could it be that both enrich them? The insult piled on top of this deathblow to real democracy is that all of the same people who are always whining about “judicial activism” are cheering and jumping for joy. If ever there were a case of judicial activism, this is it. (Hypocrisy is a valuable commodity in politics, it seems.)

The Supreme Court overturned decades of decided law to hand this power to the electoral pimps. What’s worse, this will reinforce the political strength of those coprophagic, flat-earther, tea-bagging moles burrowed deeply within the constipated orifice that is Fox News. After all, they are the foot soldiers for corporate interests – which, in most cases, are not their own interests. Still, they rant and rave about communism and socialism and yet, have no clue as to what either of these words means.

My advice to them is to pick up a dictionary, look those two words up, and while they’re at it, look up the word fascism.

Open Letter to Americans [Oct. 27th, 2009|10:18 pm]

ambient_1
Dear Americans,

Hello, my name is Joe Blow. I used to be one of those bleeding heart liberals, who thought that the answer to our huge healthcare mess here in America was to create a single payer system; you know, A Medicare system for all; similar to those in the rest of the civilized world?
It seemed to make sense that we could offer healthcare to all by having everyone who could afford to, pay into it, and then offer it to every man woman and child.

We were later informed by the Democratic Party that a single payer system was “off the table”– who, by the way, were elected to deliver just that. But this is the real world and we mustn’t think that yes, we can. Perhaps it is better to think that perhaps we might, if we can only get one or two republicans to sign on to it. And thus began the public option.

However, after years of debate, and listening to the voices of those who oppose healthcare reform, I’ve come to my senses. I now realize that I was naïve to want such a thing and that such reform would amount to socialism. After all, socialism is only available to the CEOs of failed Corporations and Wall Street banks. Apparently, socialism is similar to healthcare in that it’s only available to those who don’t need it.

Yes, after giving careful thought to the rational and cogent arguments put forward by pundits on the right such as Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and politicians like John Boehner, Orin Hatch, and Eric Kanter, I’ve realized that this would cost 3, 4, 5 trillion dollars more than we currently spend and that by merely creating tort reform we could save up to 15, 35, 75 billion dollars.

At a time when we are facing a pandemic of H1N1, and are being told that many children and pregnant women will die from this pig flu, it hardly seems like the time to go messing with “the greatest healthcare system in the world.”

So, given the state of our fiscal crises, and the lack of funds being paid into the government due to so many people being out of work, I propose that we suspend Medicare, Medicaid, take all of our government officials (congressmen and congresswomen, Senators etc.) off the government plan and make them join the commercial pool and have to purchase insurance like everybody else from the for-profit insurance companies. We should also revoke the veteran’s healthcare and anybody else who is on a government run program. Let’s indeed give the “free market” a real chance to work. I think that we should truly stand up for what we believe in. Therefore, I no longer support a public option. It is abundantly clear that competition is good for the market, therefore, let’s all jump into the shark tank, and may the best men, and women win.

Sincerely,

Joe Blow

Ayers, Obama, and other McLies [Oct. 16th, 2008|11:34 pm]

John McCain is still lying about William Ayers in a pitiful attempt to smear Obama via guilt by association.  John McCain quite obviously does not respect the intelligence of his supporters.
